The importance of a good web architecture in SEO

Welcome to the third theme of our course SEO. If you have followed, you will know that we have already dealt with what is SEO and how to know what keywords to use to do a good Keyword Research. The third step in any SEO strategy is structuring our website.

¿¡Ready!?

What is the importance of the structure of the web?

A good architecture and website structure is very important to guide a user the website in question. Saying it in summary formthe less clicks the reader to access the information that you are looking for, the better is the user experience.

So, once you have done the keyword research we must do is generate landings that position those keywords and we're going to generate a structure of the inverted pyramid.

How does a web architecture?

As we have already said a good web architecture it should go from most to least, as shown in the image below:

Despite the fact that apparently the keywords secondary might seem less important, they actually have a fundamental role: the give importance to the pages with content more general or keywords main.

This is so because while a main keywords you have many searches but also a lot of competition (and hence, it is difficult to position) a keyword secondary does not have so much competition (not so many searches) and it is easier to position. So what it is is that these pages with keywords, secondary link to your keywords main related and help as well, to their positioning.

How to determine the structure of a web site?

So much for the blog as to the structure of web pages transactional what we look for are clusters of Keywords.

A cluster of contents is by definition a group of pages that are related to each other hierarchically according to their authority and typology. Doing this exercise will allow us to:

  1. Gain authority: sites that have the content clusterizados have more authority in Google for the concepts worked.
  2. To have an orderly growth: The clustering helps the site grow in an orderly way and monopolizing all the content related to a particular area.
  3. Guide the view: Clusters guide the sessions from the information pages, as for example those of the blog, to the transaction of greater importance to the site.

How do we make the bound internal?

The most important pages in our site should be more linked both internally and externally. That is why it is important to have a control and not to make links in a random fashion. The strategy of clústerización of contents and linked, therefore, must also be used in the blog. For a interlink ordered we must use:

  • Interlink vertical: In the first place, the pages must be linked to their level immediately lower or higher.
  • Interlink horizontal: on the other hand, the pages are able to link to other pages of the same category and level.
